Beginning 4-Harness Weaving

Our beginning weaving class introduces you to the basics of how to warp a 4-harness table loom, followed by exercises to create various loom-controlled pattern weaves.​

Classes start at various times during the year. The class is held on two consecutive Saturdays, 10 am to 4 pm.

Beginning Spinning Wheel

This beginning spinning class will teach you the basics of creating your own yarn from natural fibers. Working on a spinning wheel, you will learn how to draw out the fiber and twist it together to form yarn. 

Classes start at various times during the year. The class is held on two consecutive Saturdays, 5 hours per day. These classes fill fast. Start planning now. In 2026, classes will be held January 10/17 and May 16/23.

Introduction to Rigid Heddle Loom

Rigid heddle looms provide the perfect introduction to learning to weave. You will learn how to warp a loom and weave a simple project. Additional techniques possible with the rigid heddle loom will be discussed.

This two-day class is held Saturday/Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. 

​In 2026, classes will be held Jan 24/25, Mar 21/22, August 29/30 and October 17/18.

Introduction to Tapestry Weaving

​Tapestry is an artistic form of expression in weaving consisting of hand-manipulated shapes woven on a simple loom. You will learn the techniques used to weave shapes that form geometric or pictorial designs.

Tablet Weaving Basics
Sewing with Handwoven Fabrics

Tablet weaving is a form of band weaving that uses tablets, or cards, threaded on the warp to produce a shed. You will learn the basics of tablet weaving by weaving a narrow band on an inkle loom, including how to read a pattern, warp an inkle loom with tablets, and weave by turning the tablets according to the pattern sequence.

This two-day class is held on two Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm. In 2026, the class will be held January 31 and February 14.

Students will receive instruction in pattern development for a sewn product, plan for yardage necessary for the project and create the wearable
garment. This class will be adjusted to the students' skill levels, interest, and available resources.

The class includes three half-day Saturday sessions with time between each session to do homework. The next offering of this class will be April 4/April 11/June 6.
