EDUCATION
The primary mission of the San Diego Creative Weavers Guild is to educate the public in the art of weaving and related textile crafts. In addition to the lectures presented at monthly meetings, we offer learning opportunities for three levels of weaving experience:

INTRODUCTORY CLASSES
Our introductory classes introduce beginners to weaving and spinning. We currently offer the following beginning classes:
Beginning Weaving taught on 4-harness table looms Introduction to Rigid Heddle taught on simpler looms called "rigid heddle loom" Introduction to Spinning taught on spinning wheels Introduction to Tapestry taught on tapestry frame looms learn more about introductory classes |
ONE-DAY WORKSHOPS
Our one-day workshops are aimed at intermediate weavers, i.e. anyone who has taken a beginning class or learned the basics of weaving. Each topic will teach a specific skill or weave technique. These are intended to build up your weaving knowledge as you complete simple projects.

TWO-DAY WORKSHOPS
Our two-day workshops are taught by visiting lecturers and other who are considered experts on a given topic. These workshops last two or more days. Participants are expected to have at least an intermediate understanding of weaving. If there is an exception to this, it will be noted in the workshop description.
