Monthly Meetings


The San Diego Creative Weavers Guild meets the first Saturday of each month. Exceptions are July and August, when we do not meet. In September we meet the second Saturday in years when the first Saturday falls on Labor Day weekend.

Meetings start at 9:30 a.m. Sales of donated equipment and supplies start at 9:00 a.m.


Each meeting includes four activities:

  • Business meeting includes reports by committee chairs to keep the membership informed and involved in the activities of the guild. 
 
  • “Show and Share” gives members and guests an opportunity to talk about their recent creations.     **See Show and Share submission details below
 
  • Refreshment break gives everyone a chance to mingle and stretch their legs, and to purchase donated equipment and yarn at reduced prices
 
  • Formal presentation given by a guest speaker. Workshops with the speaker may be offered.

Show and Share Submission Details

  • Weaver’s Name
  • Project Name or Description
  • Source or Inspiration
  • Weave Structure (twill, plain weave, etc.)
  • Equipment (loom, number of shafts, etc.)
  • Fibers (wool, cotton, yards per pound, colors, etc.)
  • Sett (EPI warp=ends per inch/PPI weft=picks per inch)
  • Hems (if applicable, how were they made)
  • Finished size
  • Modifications or Additional Notes
