Scholarships
SDCWG Workshop Scholarship Policy - adopted by the Board 1-5-2019
- The guild will budget a maximum of $500 annually for scholarships.
- An individual must have been a member of the guild for a year to apply for a scholarship.
- It is assumed that anyone who is applying for a scholarship has a financial need. No requests will be made to prove that need. The applicant should state the amount of scholarship requested.
- In general no more than 4/5th of the fee charged will be provided as scholarship. Less than that amount may be requested.
- Scholarships will be administered by the Program/workshop committee in consultation with the President. The committee may set amounts of the total available for each workshop.
- If it is necessary to make a choice on who to fund, priority will be given to those who have never taken a workshop, who have not received scholarship funds previously, or who may have other financial considerations such as needing to pay for childcare or who will lose income in order to take time off work to attend.
