Ongoing classroom instruction is offered by guild members at several locations throughout San Diego County.


Beginning and Intermediate Weaving
The Crafts Center at the University of California, San Diego offers beginning and intermediate 4-harness loom weaving on a quarterly basis.  New sessions begin in September, January and April.  The classes meet one time per week for 6 weeks.  Crafts Center classes are open to everyone and fees are very reasonable.  The instructor is Christie Dunning. Tapestry Weaving
Beginning tapestry weaving is also offered at the UCSD Crafts Center.  The course focuses on learning to weave geometric shapes and pictorial figures using traditional tapestry weaving techniques.  The course is offered on a quarterly basis.  New sessions begin in September, January and April.  The instructor is Rebecca Smith. Spinning
“Spindling” classes are offered through the Adult Education program in La Mesa.  The classes start with drop spindles to create unique handspun yarns to dye or leave naturally beautiful.  Each semester is a different emphasis but beginning instruction is always offered.  Classes are taught by Margaret Tyler. Semesters start in June, August, January and April.  Classes meet at the Helix High School campus, (619) 644-3555.

Basket Weaving
